Fun in Bend

While in Bend, we tried to keep the girls busy. With the temps in the 90's each day, we enjoyed a few Central Oregon staples: swimming, parks, beautiful views, and Goody's ice cream!

Bailey family reunion 2010

This weekend, we traveled to Bend for the annual Bailey family reunion. This year, everyone was able to come, and we had a blast at Jeff and Jill's house. Can you believe that when Brian was young, there were nothing but boys in the family? Now the family is over-run by little girls. It is hilarious to watch all of the dads and grandpas chase after them!

All the Bailey boys

Papa Bob's branch of the family tree :)

There are six girls that range in age from 2 to 9. They had a blast running, squealing, chasing, sliding, dressing up, and driving (see below) together. They acted like they see each other all the time, instead of once a year!

And playing dress up too...

Aubrey found a vehicle in the garage that was just her size.

Look out!!!!

Camryn jumped on the trampoline with Katey :)

And Aubrey enjoyed some "Sassy Brownies"

Both girls had SO much fun that they BOTH melted down when it was time to leave. They didn't want to go! The good news is, we know we'll have fun again next year!

Aubrey's big girl room

Aubrey's big girl room is finally done! Once we replaced her crib with a twin bed, the need for a complete bedroom overhaul was obvious. So after more than two gallons of paint, nine yards of ribbon, a few stencils, one trip to the emergency room, and five days nursing a strained neck later (leave it to me!), Aubrey finally has her big girl room. She chose a sunny yellow which lightened it up well, and her little fairies are now looking down on her as she sleeps. Sweet dreams, baby girl!

Happy 35th Anniversary, Mom & Dad!

This weekend, my siblings and I, along with our spouses, surprised my parents with a celebration to mark their 35th(!) wedding anniversary. It was all very hush-hush, with little surprises around every corner, and in the end, we put together a nice evening for them.

We picked them up in a rented car, and headed to the waterfront to get some photos to mark the day. Afterward, we headed to Dad's favorite restaurant, Morton's Steakhouse. There, we were treated to a few special touches, courtesy of my sister's foresight, and the help of the Morton's staff. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner, and we all had a blast talking, drinking, and laughing with no distractions, worries, or responsibilities to concern us all evening. We ended the night with flaming Spanish coffees at Huber's, and a ride home in style.

We are all blown away by the accomplishment of 35 years together, and as we all celebrate our 10, 3, and 3 year anniversaries this summer, we hope to learn from the life lessons they instilled in us. Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!
