Say, "CHEESE!"

As we headed up the coast this weekend to meet our friends, the girls and I stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory for a potty break, some leg stretches, and some dairy products. :)

I remember going there multiple times as a kid, but my girls had never been. They thought it was pretty cool, especially because the factory employees were making their favorite: cheddar! They also enjoyed tremendously the free samples (we had to relearn and review the whole "each toothpick gets only one use" rule...), and the must-have ice cream before lunch! Yum!

Play Group Beach Day!

Since most of the play group crew is getting a bit older, and naps are becoming less of an issue, a few other brave/foolish moms and I decided to venture to the coast with the kiddos today. Although we lost a few friends at the last minute due to illness, five kids and three moms still made the journey to Cannon Beach. With only one potty stop, we were there with plenty of time to play in the sand for several hours.

Like crazy fools, the kids went straight for the water, and were soaked within minutes. They had so much fun though, digging and dumping, searching and moving. A few hours later, they'd had enough, and we picnicked before heading downtown to visit the Candy Kitchen, and Toy Shoppe.

Although we wish we could have stayed much longer, it sure was fun to play in the sand with our friends for a day. We look forward to making this trip an annual adventure!

Big Girl School Clothes Shopping Spree 2011!

It's been awhile since Camryn and I have had some "big girl" time together, and so I decided Monday night was the night. We hopped in the car, and headed to a nearby hotel to check in, and freshen up. Then it was out to dinner, and over to the mall for the beginning of our school clothes shopping for the fall. A little ice cream, and a movie while snuggled into bed, and our evening was complete.


The next morning, after sleeping in a bit, we went out to breakfast, and then headed to the outlets for more of our school clothes shopping spree. We were able to do some pretty significant damage before it was time to head home and back to our "regular life." I was pretty sure I'd hit a home run with Miss C. however, when she said to me that afternoon, "You know what, Mom? This is the best day ever!!" :)
