Thanksgiving in Bend

We spent this Thanksgiving in Bend, after a slow, snowy, icy, very long (5 hour) trip "over the river and through the woods" Wednesday night. Thank goodness we had invested in a new portable DVD player for the girls, and they were (mostly) happy to chill out and watch movies all the way there.

The best part of the weather was playing in the snow on Thanksgiving morning, with Uncle Rob's dog, Jack. The girls had fun inspecting icicles, creating snow angels, and throwing snowballs at Daddy. :)

Thanks, Mimi and Papa for a weekend we can be thankful for!

Santa letter

As I was sprucing up the house for Christmas, blasting holiday songs, and boiling up hot cocoa, Camryn decided it was also a good time to peruse the holiday ads and communicate her wishes to Santa. So for the first time, she sat down and wrote her very own letter to Santa. She came up with quite a list of ideas(!) but made sure to let me know that she wasn't expecting all of them...there were just so many good things to choose from. There were so many in fact, that she needed two pages!

Translation:
Dear Santa,
I've been very good. Can you get me a Taylor Swift CD, Rock Band, Barbie house, Blizzard machine, Easy Bake oven, and "Llama, Llama, Holiday Drama" book?
Thank you,
♥ ,
Camryn

November snow day!

We woke up today to a special surprise: a snow day in November!!! We enjoyed a lazy day at home, stayed in our jammies, played in the snow, made hot cocoa, and decorated for Christmas (we've never done that before Thanksgiving, but since we were home and it was so cold outside, we figured 'What the heck?').

The temperature outside was only in the 20's, but the girls were still thrilled to play in the dusting of snow. Camryn even insisted on making snow angels in the street. :) When everyone's noses started running, we knew it was time to head inside, get warm and enjoy our cozy day off!

Camryn's school photo

I still can't believe she's old enough to have an official school picture...
