Girl Scout campout: The end of an era

After five fun years, we are saying "goodbye" to Girl Scouts.  :(  With all six girls becoming busier and busier with other extracurricular activities and schedules, and heading on to middle school, it was just time.  So, we decided to go out with a "bang," and take them all camping!  

The girls had fun setting up camp, biking, walking, geocaching, creating and performing plays, and roasting hot dogs and s'mores.  The giggle-fest lasted late into the night, and we ended our adventure with a group hug.  Despite the troop being dissolved, these girls will remain close, I'm sure.  So thankful that Camryn had this experience with this particular group.  :)

Elementary school graduation

On her very last day at Deer Creek, Camryn delivered flowers to all of the teachers who have helped her along the way, from Kindergarten all the way up and through fifth grade. There were a few tears, lots of hugs, and tons of pride...she has come a long way! 

Later in the morning, I got to attend the all-school "Goodbye, 5th Graders!" assembly.  Each graduate submitted a hashtag as their parting words to the school, and they were very sweet to hear.  Camryn also played one last time with the school marimba band, and gave many, many hugs to her good friends (some of whom are going to different middle schools than she.)  It was a day filled with both much joy as well as a little sadness...  Our baby is growing up and moving on from her beloved school!
