A great end to a "Dynamite" season...!

This weekend marked Camryn's last softball game with Team Dynamite, and the end-of-season family BBQ.  What fun it was to see just how MUCH the girls have learned this season, how far they've come, and how WELL they can now play!  If only they had another month to play, they'd be TLL champions!!!  :)

Camryn had a great time meeting new friends, learning a new sport, and learning the value of perseverance and hard work.  She's been showing so much improvement in the past few weeks, but in her final game, she blew it out of the water!  She hit two line drives straight back at the pitcher, and made an awesome play to get an out while playing first base.  She was focused, she was paying attention, she was hustling, and not one. single. dandelion. was pulled by her fingers.  I'd call that a HUGE success!  Way to go Dynamite!

It's almost recital time again!  I can hardly believe it!  This year, Aubrey is the big star of the family, since big sis took some time off to play softball. 

To be honest, she's kind of been dragging her feet lately, and complaining every time we haul her to class.  But today?  Today was different!  Today she was radiant.  Beaming.  Full of personality (and of herself in general.)  What caused the big change in heart?  A kickin' costume, that's what!  Amazing what some sequins and lip gloss will do for a girl!  ;)

I can't wait to see her on stage next week!

While in the middle of a recent trip to Costco, right about where the clothing section meets the snack aisle, Aubrey imparted a bit of her 4-year old knowledge on me.  It went something like this...

Aubs:  Mommy, you're the wisedest Mommy.
Me:  The "wisedest?"
Aubs:  Yeah, the wisedest.  That means the smartest!  (Grin.)

Girl Scout Deer Creek Clean Up Day!

To earn their "rose" colored petal for "Making the World a Better Place," our Daisy Girl Scout troop planned and volunteered  for a Clean Up day at the girls' elementary school.  All of the parents and siblings joined in, pulling weeds, picking up trash, and planting flowers to beautify the grounds.  It was perfect weather, and even though *some* were more help than others, ALL of the kids had fun digging in the dirt!

The girls also made bird feeders to take home, and (finally!) received their certificates and awards for their cookie sale.  Whew!  What a morning!  To see how hard we all worked, just check out the before and after pics below...  Way to go, Daisies!
