Girl Scouts visit CAT!

Last weekend, our Brownie troop visited Cat Adoption Team shelter in Sherwood to tour the facilities, visit some lonely kitties, and make a donation from the cookie money they made last Spring.  Great fun was had by all, and (miraculously!) no one went home with a kitten!!!

"Inzombiea" Scavenger Hunt 2013

For the second year in a row, the boys competed in Insomnia Coffee's local answer to The Amazing Race:  "Inzombiea 2013."  All afternoon, they raced all over Hillsboro, competing challenges and eating gross things, to come in FIRST place!  Congrats, guys!!!

While they were 'racing,' the girls (all NINE of us now!) were trick-or-treating at Grandma's, having lunch, planning for the holidays, and generally having fun.  We even managed to get a few pics of the five grandgirls in their Halloween costumes:  old lady, zebra, monkey, taco, and banana!  Hilarious!!!

Zombie party

Well...let's just say it's kind of a long story...

The short version is that my dad, brother, and brother-in-law all have birthdays in October.  They're also all into these zombie shows and movies, and stuff.  So, being as it's almost Halloween, and we were celebrating anyway, we planned a zombie-themed birthday party for them. 

Camryn and Aubrey so generously offered to be the decorations, and greeted everyone at the door like this:

 

Kind of a little different from the usual "dress up" that takes place at our house, no?

Pumpkin Patch 2013

This year, our Brownie troop organized a pumpkin patch field trip so that the girls could earn their "Harvest Fun" badge.  :)  Although it started out foggy and chilly, the sun eventually peeked through, and we had a fun day with (most of) the Brownie families.
