Bend Spring Break: "3 Girls' Birthday!"

We kicked off our Spring Break this year by heading to Bend to see the Bailey side of the family, and to celebrate Camryn, Aubrey, and Denise's birthdays.  This has become a little bit of a tradition for the three of them, and they like to call it the "3 Girls' Birthday!"  This celebration happened to be an extra special one too, because Aubrey was turning 5, Camryn was turning 8, and Mimi was turning 58!  Cool, huh?

 

The next day, we all headed to the High Desert Museum.  We've all taken the girls there several times, but they never tire of the cool animals and indoor/outdoor exhibits.  This time, we got to see a porcupine up close and learn more about them at the day's "animal talk."  The girls loved this!

 

We showed up at the wild cat talk too, but found that it was a stuffed cougar and feline pelts only.  Boo.

The traveling butterfly exhibit was also back!  It was such a hit last time, and did not disappoint this time either.  Also in the enclosure this time around, were hummingbirds!  Although we could not feed or touch the butterflies, sometimes they would choose to land on us.  Something about my green sweater that day attracted 4 or 5 of them at one time or another.  (Kind of creepy, to be honest...)

Finally, it was time to hit the outdoor exhibits and check out more wildlife!  What a beautiful, crisp, Central Oregon day it was!  Thanks for hosting us, Mimi and Papa!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

We woke up today to find that a naughty little leprechaun had visited our house last night!  He left gold coins and sparkly clovers sprinkled around our downstairs, and a box of Lucky Charms for the girls.  Bummer that he didn't fall for Camryn's leprechaun trap, though! 

When it was time to make breakfast, we discovered that even though he was long gone, he managed to turn all the food I was making for breakfast GREEN!  The girls are utterly convinced of his magic.  :)

Jada's "Fancy" party

Saturday, Aubrey attended her good buddy Jada's 6th birthday party with a "Fancy Nancy" theme.  It was pretty hysterical!  The girls all wore their "fanciest" dresses, and enjoyed manicures, makeup, a fancy luncheon, arts & crafts, photo booth pics, and a dance party.  By the end they were all "fancied out."  Happy Birthday, Jada!

Visit with Baby Jo

This weekend, the girls FINALLY got to snuggle with Baby Jo, and they couldn't have been happier!!!  They held her, talked to her, observed and commented on her,  and just generally couldn't get enough.  By the time we left, Aubrey commented, "She's so cute!  I wish I could keep her!"  :) 

I have a feeling that these 3, along with Cousin Keira (and a yet unnamed Baby Borts) will be having plenty of fun in the years to come!!!

 

 

 

 Once we wrestled Jo from the girls, Brian and I were able to sneak in some baby time too...

 

 And, before we left, we had to get a few sweet pics of the new family of 3...  :)

"Listen to the sounds of the instruments"

Tonight was Camryn's 2nd grade music performance, and the focus was on the instruments they have learned to play this year.  (Hence the title of the program.)

Beforehand, the girls had to get their nervous wiggles out by being goofy...

 

While we tried to keep Aubrey and the other younger siblings entertained...

Camryn was very serious during the performance.

Welcome, Sweet Josephine!

On Tuesday afternoon, our family got a sweet surprise in the form of a brand new, 6 lb 10 oz niece and cousin named Josephine Mary Beth!  Although her arrival was a little ahead of schedule, she couldn't be cuter, and we are so happy that she is healthy!  We are all so happy she is here!  Congrats, Mama Beth, and Daddy Tomas!  We are so happy for the two (now three!) of you!!!!
