Polar Express party at the Mason's!

Saturday morning, the girls and I attended the annual Polar Express party at the Mason household. Every year, Felicia reads The Polar Express to the kids, while the adults make hot cocoa and hot buttered rum. Then we all head to their dining room to decorate the most amazing cake trains you've ever seen. Everyone brings a little something, which means that the kids have any candy their little hearts could desire to put on their train, and more than they could ever fit in their tummies.

This year was the first year that Aubrey really got it. She took her time, and painstakingly covered her two-car train. (She didn't want anymore than two cars, and it's probably a good thing, because we would have been there all day.) By the time we were done, her train was so loaded down with candy it couldn't have traveled anywhere. :)

Camryn took her time too, carefully choosing and placing her candies, paying special attention to colors, sizes, and shapes, and carefully making sure that the decorations as a whole were perfect and symmetrical. (Oh boy...here we go!)

By the end, they were sufficiently sugared up (Aubrey kept an "eating" pile next to her creation), and raring to head to our second of three events that day(!)
