We knew we only had one day at Universal Studios, so we got there EARLY, and stayed LATE! It was a scorching 97 degrees spent mostly on blacktop, but totally worth it!
Since Harry Potter World was our main focus, it was of course, our first stop. And...it did not disappoint. Everything about the little town of Hogsmeade looked just like the books describe. It was *magical*. :) The girls chose wands, we enjoyed Butterbeer (DELICIOUS!), cast spells, rode the most amazing ride, met the conductor of the Hogwart's Express, visited Honeyduke's, and Zonko's joke shop, and even ate lunch at The Three Broomsticks. Even the restrooms were true to the HP experience, with Moaning Myrtle wailing and knocking about in the background. It was truly, seriously awesome.
By mid-day we had seen pretty much everything, and decided to explore the rest of park. It was blisteringly hot, so we stopped by the splash park in Despicable Me's 'Super Silly Fun Land,' and got soaked. Other highlights included the minions ride, Shrek ride, Animal Actors show, Back Lot tour, ice cream in The Simpsons' Springfield, and lots more.
We finished our evening with dinner at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. at the Universal City walk, and finally reached our car about 13 hours after we arrived. We nearly melted into our beds that night, exhausted and happy. :)
