Play date with Maren

Camryn got to enjoy a play date with her friend Maren today! Although it was beautifully sunny, it was really cold, so while they ran and ran around the park, Amie and I clutched our hot chocolate and followed the sun as it moved. The temperature didn't seem to bother the girls though, as they enjoyed chasing each other around the play structure, and tumbling over one another again and again as they headed down the slide together. Their giggles were contagious, and they can't wait to get together again. Thanks, Amie and Maren for a fun morning at the park!

Christmas, again!

With all of the snow and ice over the holidays, Brian's parents weren't able to make it over to celebrate with us. So last weekend, we finally got to have "Christmas" with Mimi and Papa! We did our best to recreate the holiday, from wearing holiday PJs to opening gifts, and even baking a special breakfast. Brian also cooked a prim rib on the BBQ all day for a belated Christmas dinner. Yum! Camryn soaked up the extra attention from "Meems" and "Pops,"as she so affectionately nicknamed them, and Aubrey made everyone laugh with her antics all weekend. Thanks, Meems and Pops for a fun weekend!

Grandma & Grandpa time

Camryn spent the first night of 2009 with her Grandma and Grandpa. Oh, how excited she was to receive ALL of the attention available. To sum it up, when I called last night to talk to her and see how everything was going, my dad said, "Sure, if you can get a word in edgewise!" (That's my girl!!!)

On the way home, she rattled off all of the highlights of her sleepover:

• Going to Red Robin for dinner (her favorite)
  
• Watching a Barbie DVD (I'm sure Grandpa LOVED that one!)
• Having a bath by herself (no sharing with sister)
• Sleeping in "the toy room" (Mommy's old bedroom)
• Cuddling with Simon (the cat)
  
• Playing in the snow with Grandma (Yes, surprise! Snow this morning!)
• Visiting Grandpa's work and "driving" the airplanes (see pics!)
  
• Making a special trip to the candy store for "polar bears" (white chocolate covered gummy bears)

She finished up with the comment, "I wish I could stay there all the days!" She had an amzing time. What a special day! Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa!

A little belated, but we hope you all had fun ringing in the new year! We sure did! We participated in the annual "Bingo, Booze, & Buffet" tradition with some of my extended family. (Don't ask. Just trust me, it's fun.) Camryn had a blast. She would've rallied until midnight, fueled solely by Shirley Temples (thanks, Aunt Lacey!), but Aubrey had other plans, so we called it a night at about 9 p.m.

We believe 2009 holds much hope and promise for everyone, and we anticipate a fabulous year. Welcome, 2009!
