Sales tactics

Would you like some lemonade? Or a brownie? They're only 25 cents! And if you politely say, "No, thank you," we will continue to ask you anyway, possibly even following you up the driveway into the garage as you look at our parents' junk. And we will ask again. And remind you that you "need" a brownie. And you will be so affected by our giant puppy dog eyes, that you will reach into your pocket and purchase a cold glass, or a warm pastry, whether you truly "need" it or not. And to avoid the risk of being hounded even more while we try to make change, you'll just tell us to keep it. To which we will respond with a sweet, "Thank you!" and a few more bats of our lashes. Because it's effective. Really, really effective. To the tune of $10 in each of our pockets effective. So...would you like to buy some lemonade? ;)

Baby Keira visits

This weekend, we held a garage sale, and were lucky enough to have Lacey, Dan, and Keira come visit us as we hung out in our garage, monitoring the crazies... The girls were simply in love with the fact that Keira was here, and wanted to hold her the entire time. :)

Art camp

Last week, Camryn attended a 4-day art camp, where they explored multiple mediums (some brand new to her) all within the theme, "Planet Earth." The experience was awesome. She loves art so much, and this studio is literally an artsy kid's dream come true. They have everything you can imagine, and you are supposed to make a mess while you create! She was in heaven.

She came home with an entire portfolio, filled with sketches, chalk drawings, and watercolor paintings, among other things. My two favorite pieces however, were a paper mache bowl, made to look like a pond, and an acrylic painting of a tree, from the perspective of underneath the canopy. She used so many techniques to create it, and I can't wait to frame it. We're still waiting on her clay project to be fired, so that we can pick it up too, but I understand it's pretty. darn. cool. I think Camryn may just have found her niche. :)

Human hamster ball!

After purchasing one of these for a friend's three year old, I just couldn't resist going back and getting one for our girls too. They LOVE it, but have been forced to find a way to share it with Daddy and Uncle Dan too...

Birthday playtime in the park!

This weekend we were able to celebrate our friend Ady's 4th birthday with her. The kids enjoyed playtime in the park, complete with sand, water, play structures, and lots of yard games too. So fun!
