Zoo Day!

 

Mommy/Daughter day

Today was the day!  It was Aubrey's day to celebrate being five and starting Kindergarten!!!  And since a girl can't just show up to kindergarten without new school clothes, that meant it was time for her back to school "shopping spree" with Mom.  :)

We started our Mommy/Daughter day with a refreshing smoothie to power up for our big day of shopping, and then hit the highway for the Woodburn outlets.  

After some clothes shopping, and LOTS of shoe-trying-on (Seriously.  This GIRL and her SHOES!), we had lunch and a treat.

By mid-afternoon we were all shopped-out, and ended up watching some kids splash around in a local fountain.  Not wanting anyone else to miss out on the fun, she insisted we go home for swimsuits AND to pick up Camryn and come BACK to the fountain together.  :)  Sweet girl.  We finished off our day splashing in the water, laughing, spraying, and giggling. Gotta love it. :)

Busy Day Event #3: Ady's Birthday Party!

After heading home for a much-needed cool down and nap, we headed over to Ady's 6th birthday party at Metro Gymnastics.  What a fun place to have a party!!!

After the party, it was back home for dinner, bathtime (3 in the tub!), and then bed.  We were all exhausted and melted into our beds, so glad that Keira could join us for this crazy, fun day!

Busy Day Event #2: Big Truck Day!

After the parade, we went out to an early lunch, and then headed to "Big Truck Day!"  The girls and I had been once before to this annual event, and had a blast, so we figured we'd take Keira and Daddy to check it all out!  We saw everything from fire trucks and police cars (we saw Dan again!), to 18 wheelers, school buses, giant tractors, limousines, and more.  It was definitely fun, but it was HOT, crowded, LOUD, and the girls were tired from their parade routine, so we didn't stay long.

Look closely...that is what Aubrey will look like in just THREE WEEKS as she heads off to Kindergarten on the school bus!  (As a side note, I am so disturbed by this thought, that I cannot further comment.  It's just too upsetting.)

Busy Day Event #1: Dance Camp Performance

This Saturday was one of the busiest days we've had all summer!  Several fun events just happened to coincide on this one day, but not enough to interfere with each other, so we did it ALL!

First up was marching in the Tualatin Crawfish Festival Parade.  The girls had attended dance camp all week leading up to this, and dancing in the parade was the perfect culminating performance.  The girls were SO excited!!!  They loved hanging out with their middle school-age "coaches," meeting new friends, learning new moves, and mostly running around and giggling.  

Cousin Keira ended up joining us too, so Brian and Keira and I dashed to three different locations on the parade route to watch the girls, cheer them on, and wave.  It was a FUN way to start our day!  :)

National Night Out 2013

This year, we attended a National Night Out celebration hosted by Beaverton Police, in support of our friends, the Fryes.  Dan was working the event, and Brian was golfing, so it was Julie and I against all five kids!  Luckily, there was lots to keep them entertained and happy.  :)
