Last week, in the cold and rain, Brian cheerfully accompanied Camryn's kindergarten class on a Transportation field trip. On the trip, 50 kinders and roughly 20 adults rode the school bus, the MAX train, and the OHSU tram. Although that sounds like my version of a nightmare, Brian swears it was fun times! Camryn was ecstatic to have her two best buddies in her group, chaperoned by her dad.
Later that week, Emma's dad visited the class as a part of their Community Helpers theme. Since he is a police officer, he certainly qualifies as a community helper, and the kids got to see his uniform, police car, and even his weapon (always intriguing, no matter the age, I guess.)
It's so fun to see all these dads be involved in the kindergarten classroom and curriculum. Way to go, Dads!
