Heartbroken

We found out yesterday that our dear friends across the street are moving. Not just as in across-town moving, but as in across-the-country-moving. We are happy for them, and the fact that they'll be closer to their family, but we are so sad for ourselves. Mostly though, I am so sad for Camryn, who will for the first time in her little life, say goodbye to a good friend.

To sum it up, Camryn and Colin are buddies. They love to be outside together exploring, making up games, and especially riding bikes and scooters. They are the ones who brought our two families together in the first place, and who went off to kindergarten together, fearless, because they had each other.

So when Eileen sent me a photo of this note that Colin brought home from school today, it finally hit me how heartbroken Camryn's really going to be. She may not know just how much yet, but I have a feeling that she's starting to figure it out. It's going to be a rough go, come moving day on Mulberry Drive...
